Inland Empire Disabilities Collaborative to Translate Money Management Presentation into Braille and American Sign Language

Money Management Presentation by Springboard, Available to People with Visual Disabilities, Disabilities Collaborative to Translate Power of Paycheck Planning Presentation into Braille and American Sign Language

Riverside, CA (PRWEB) October 19, 2008 -- Springboard Nonprofit Consumer Credit Management is pleased to announce that one of their most popular seminar presentations will be available to people with visual disabilities. Springboard's Power of Paycheck Planning, a money management presentation, is being converted into the Braille system, a method that is widely used by the blind to read and write. The Inland Empire Disabilities Collaborative (IEDC) is converting the seminar presentation into Braille, which will be available to the public for the first time at the Inland Empire Disability Resource Expo taking place on Thursday, October 23 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

"This is great news," said Melinda Opperman, Vice President of Community Outreach. "It is our desire that Springboard's seminars, workshops and educational materials be available in formats that are accessible to all consumers."

Springboard will be an exhibitor and workshop presenter at the IEDC Resources Expo. In addition to the Braille translation, Springboard's materials will also be available at the Expo in large print. Springboard's Power of Paycheck Planning workshop will be presented in English, Spanish and American Sign Language at the Expo.

"We're pleased to partner with Springboard in making their financial management material accessible to people with visual disabilities," said Ben Jauregui, Disability Program Manager for the Inland Empire Health Plan. "This effort supports our mission of making programs, services and facilities useable by everyone, to the greatest extent possible." The Inland Empire Health Plan is a platinum sponsor of the Expo and co-sponsor of the IEDC.    

The IEDC Resources Expo will be held at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. Workshops will focus on universal access and design issues and making programs and services available to everyone regardless of age, ability or situation.
