Monster Energy Invites Fans to Begin Online Voting to Help Narrow Search for 'Ultimate Intern.'

Nationwide search continues as six contestants to be announced on June 11th will begin The Final 6 Challenge at Monster Headquarters on June 18. Two Intern winners each receive a compensation package worth more than $15,000 and the opportunity to work with athletes, music artists, and celebrities at major events.

Fueled by more than 1,500 entries-to-date for the nation’s most extensive online intern search contest ever, Monster Energy opened a voting portal on its Facebook page to begin narrowing the search for the ‘Ultimate Intern.’ Facebook fans and energy drink enthusiasts are encouraged to review the hundreds of approved entries and vote for their favorite ‘Monster Energy Ultimate Intern.’ on Facebook (click on the View icon)

Entries poured in from 48 out of 50 states and from major cities including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Cincinnati, Tucson and Chicago. But it was the 90210 Beverly Hills zip code that unleashed its inner Monster, with the most number of entries from a single city.

Monster Energy-sponsored NASCAR drivers Kurt and Kyle Busch helped launch the online contest last month with a series of video invitations. Added Kyle Busch, “Monster Energy’s intern program is a cool opportunity for anyone! Who wouldn’t want to work with such an edgy brand, traveling the country, working at the nation’s biggest events with athletes, rock stars, and celebs, and having the time of their life?”

The Monster Energy Ultimate Intern Search will award two individuals the opportunity to win a compensation package worth more than $15,000 and the opportunity to work directly with athletes, music artists, celebrities, and Monster Energy staff at major national sports and entertainment events across America, including X-Games 18, the Vans Warped Tour 2012, and the Street League DC Pro Tour Fueled by Monster Energy during the summer of 2012.

While voting begins today, those who are just learning about the contest can still enter through June 1, 2012, at which time, should their video be approved, they too, can encourage friends and fans to vote for their submission to the summer internship.

Entry Details
To enter the contest, consumers will submit a one-minute video to Facebook explaining why they should be selected to be the “Ultimate Intern.” Voting ends at 11:59pm on June 1, 2012. Video submissions can be uploaded by first visiting Facebook and becoming a FAN, or at Ultimate Intern (for mobile access). The Final 6 Challengers will be announced on June 11, 2012 and the two winners will be announced on June 22, 2012.

The Ultimate Internship
During the internships, the two winners will rotate in various positions at Monster Energy. They will work closely with, and learn from, professional athletes, entertainers, and celebrities who are sponsored by Monster Energy, and other company representatives and partners.
