The Boulder Valley Offers Pristine Fishing For Wild Trout

Our guides have all fallen in love with this area of Montana for its diversity of fly fishing opportunities.

Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) January 31, 2013

Montana Angler Fly Fishing will provide anglers a new and unique all inclusive fly fishing lodge experience in the Boulder River Valley beginning in April 2013. The Boulder River Outpost is a rustic fishing camp located on the East Boulder River and just 400 yards from the main Boulder River. Guests staying at the Outpost have access to a wide variety of both float fishing and wade fishing waters including the Boulder River, East Boulder River, West Boulder River, Yellowstone River, Stillwater River, Livingston area spring creeks, and several small private streams and trophy trout reservoirs on leased ranches near Big Timber. Backcountry horseback fishing trips can also be arranged out of the Outpost. Guides and a camp cook stay at the fishing camp along with guests in a pair of rustic cabins that overlook the sprawling ranch country where Robert Redford filmed the “Horse Whisperer”. The towering Beartooth front which is the tallest range in Montana looms just a few miles from the property.

“Our guides have all fallen in love with this area of Montana for its diversity of fly fishing opportunities,” states Montana Angler outfitter and guide Brian McGeehan. “We have been searching for a great property in this area for a while and the Outpost is just what we were looking for with on the water location and incredible access to a huge variety of different types of trout waters. Our guests can spend one day float fishing the huge Yellowstone River to target trophy browns and then visit a private ranch the next day to wade fish for dry fly loving trout that rarely see anglers the next. Of course the Boulder and its tributaries are right there and offer great fishing for both the wade and float angler.”

Both the Boulder River and Yellowstone river have blue ribbon trout stream status in Montana. The Boulder originates high in the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness just north of Yellowstone National Park where it cuts through the highest mountain ranges in Montana. Most of the river flows through National Forest land until it exits the mountains where it travels through pastoral ranches before joining the much larger Yellowstone River.
