Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 08, 2013
zSmart and Mood-factory announce today the unveiling of the new zSmart Mood-LED light bulb at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show with recognition from Bluetooth Special Interest Group as a finalist for the ‘2012 Breakthrough Awards, Prototype.’ Mood-factory, manufacturing Mood-lites, currently has a top brand of colored light bulbs at Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores nationwide and wanted to launch a product using the latest LED, Bluetooth® wireless technology and touchscreen technology, so they contracted with zSmart. The zSmart Mood-LED product, currently in prototype form, is an LED remote control light bulb that can change to any color, including white, controllable with any smart device by downloading a simple application.
The Mood-LED product is being unveiled at the Pepcom media event on January 7th and is then available for review Tuesday and Wednesday, January 8th and 9th, in The Concept Factory booth 70117 on the second floor of The Venetian near the Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase. The Concept Factory, along with President Brian West, is showcasing the Mood-LED product as his team is consulting on the touch screen user interface design of the product. The Concept Factory is an expert in the field of touchscreen user interface design, working with leading companies around the world including Hertz, Ford, Fiat, Chrysler, and Sub-Zero Wolf.
When asked why zSmart Mood-LED, Suke Jawanda, Bluetooth SIG CMO stated "The zSmart Mood-LED light bulb uses Bluetooth Smart technology to allow users the utmost control over their lighting, specifically in regards to color – in prototype form now, this product showcases where Bluetooth technology has the potential to light up home automation scenarios. Bluetooth technology is enabling use in cases we have never before even dreamed of – we'll continue to highlight these innovative products and solutions through our awards program and support our membership, making it possible for them to build their products better with Bluetooth."
“We wanted to have a simple product, without any added components or complexity” adds Arnold Goetzke, President of zSmart. “Bluetooth Smart technology provides extended range for the Mood-LED, and it also eliminated the need for routers or complex networks. The bulb and a smart phone are the network.”
The zSmart Mood-LED light bulb is currently in prototype format, slated to launch May 1st in the market with an MSRP estimated at $49.95. The company is in talks with numerous retailers interested in showcasing it as part of their innovative line-up. The new LED is also going to be available in networked format, bringing a whole new meaning to the term Smart Home.
