From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank the community of supporters who helped make this possible, as well as the MorganFranklin Consulting team for exemplifying the charitable culture of our firm and employees.

MorganFranklin Consulting, a leading business consulting and technology solutions company based in McLean, Va., and London, announced that Jeana Foster, the firm’s Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has been named the 2013 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) National Capital Chapter Woman of the Year. Foster led 19 contenders, who collectively raised $1.145 million through 10 weeks of fundraising, a new record for the National Capital Chapter.

Leo Tucker, Managing Partner at Northwestern Mutual, was named the 2013 Man of the Year at the campaign's Grand Finale Gala on the evening of Saturday, June 8. Foster and Tucker are now in the running for the national titles of 2013 Man & Woman of the Year.

“Working with the LLS, meeting ‘Boy and Girl of the Year’ Reed and Madison, and knowing that my efforts will bring us closer to finding a cure for them and all those suffering from blood cancers is truly inspiring,” Foster said. “Words cannot express how I felt when my name was announced as the winner. To share that moment with my family and friends and to honor my grandmother’s memory is a moment I will forever cherish. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank the community of supporters who helped make this possible, as well as the MorganFranklin Consulting team for exemplifying the charitable culture of our firm and employees.”

Approximately every four minutes, one person in the United States is diagnosed with blood cancer, and 149,990 people in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma in 2013. MorganFranklin Consulting has a long history of supporting LLS, and Foster’s recognition as the LLS Woman of the Year is indicative of the firm’s commitment to the organization.

“MorganFranklin is incredibly proud of Jeana for receiving this well-deserved honor. Her relentless commitment to bettering the community and passion for volunteerism are unmatched,” said C.E. Andrews, CEO of MorganFranklin Consulting. “Her dedication to this great cause is a testament to the culture that she has helped build at our firm, and we are proud to partner with Jeana in support of LLS and all those battling blood cancers.”

Now in its 22nd year, the Man & Woman of the Year campaign is one of Washington’s top fundraising events.
