Leading human capital consulting firm Morgan Samuels has announced Jeff Hodge will be joining the firm as a Senior Client Partner. With a focus on retained executive search, Morgan Samuels provides innovative and strategic services focused on identifying, attracting, and retaining top executive talent. Mr. Hodge will be leading the Board Services Practice, as well as working to expand the firm’s Northern California presence. Mr. Hodge was most recently Vice Chairman at Diversified Search, where his executive search practice focused on assignments to place Chief Executive Officers, Corporate Directors, Chief Human Resource Officers and Professional Services Partners. In addition to his general management and Director search work, he has conducted assignments for senior executives in charge of most functional areas. His clients have included AT&T, Bank of America, Baker & McKenzie, KPMG, McKinsey, Deloitte & Touche, Clorox, Kaiser Permanente, Pacific Gas & Electric, Genentech, Apple Computer, Delta Dental, Fireman’s Fund, and Charles Schwab, among others.
Throughout his career, Mr. Hodge has often been called upon to do senior level, high impact recruitment in industries challenged by major changes brought on by industry consolidation, deregulation, sudden innovation or financial crisis. Accordingly, he has done significant work in financial services during crisis periods involving S&Ls, and more recently, the mortgage sector; technology during the breakthroughs in Silicon Valley in hardware, software and the Internet; the deregulation periods of the airlines and energy sectors; and recently in healthcare given the major challenges facing all providers.
Prior to Diversified Search, Mr. Hodge was a co-founder and Chairman of his own firm, Hodge Partners, a highly successful firm focusing on senior level searches for healthcare and technology clients as well as Boards of Directors. Hodge Partners became part of Diversified Search in 2011.
Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Hodge was the Area Managing Partner for Heidrick & Struggles North America—West. Previously, he was the Managing Director of Spencer Stuart’s West Coast offices. His earlier search affiliation was with KPMG Peat Marwick in Chicago and San Francisco. Prior to beginning his executive search career, Mr. Hodge was on the audit staff of Deloitte & Touche (then Touche Ross) in Chicago.
Mr. Hodge is also a Founding Director of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), Northern California Chapter and a Board Member of the Association of Executive Search Consultants. He holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
