Projected Morning Center mobile maternity care unit

Lansberry says that if the Morning Center wins, the money will go towards launching its first mobile maternity care unit in Memphis, Tennessee.

Peoria, IL (PRWEB) September 19, 2012

The Morning Center can win $50,000 to use toward deploying its first mobile maternity unit, which will offer free care to expectant mothers.

The Morning Center, a project of Samaritan Ministries International, will compete with 29 other charities in “The Give,” a charitable cause competition hosted by Cultivate Wines. It is one of 30 causes in The Give’s third-quarter 2012 competition, being held online Sept. 19-Oct. 31. First prize is $50,000; second through sixth places will win $10,000 each.

Voters log in with a valid Facebook account and can complete voting in as little as 15 seconds. Voting for causes can be as frequent as once per day and James Lansberry, the Morning Center’s national director, says that the charity is rallying supporters now to help it get the most votes.

Lansberry says that if the Morning Center wins, the money will go towards launching its first mobile maternity care unit in Memphis, Tennessee.

“We have seen a recent surge in interest for the Morning Center, and if we were to win the $50,000 gift as a result of this competition, we would be able to purchase a full-blown RV mobile care unit that will give us the mobile facilities that we need to provide free, full-service maternity care to women in the urban and underserved areas of Memphis.

“Supporters of the Morning Center can sign up now at our web site to receive notifications on when the competition begins, reminders to vote periodically, and learn how they can share info about the Morning Center cause with their friends and family on Facebook.”

The Morning Center was founded in 2011 to provide free full-service pre-natal and maternity care to women in urban and under-served areas. It is a project of Samaritan Ministries International, a 501(c)(3) Christian charity that seeks to return charitable maternity care to a private, patient-centered model.
