'These MPEUs are buying power for less cost than the majority of New England companies, not just Maine. Such significant savings can help these MPEUs keep jobs in Maine,' says FEL Power's Jerry Tudan.

Freedom Energy Logistics (FEL Power) has announced more than $3.1 million in electricity supply cost-savings garnered by its Maine MPEU customers in 2011. Representing nearly 220 million kWh of electricity utilized primarily in the manufacturing sector, the MPEUs average cost ranged from 3.8 to 7.2 cents per kWh.
FEL Power’s Direct to Grid program guides large end-users into wholesale market participation in the New England Power Grid. As Market Participant End-Users (MPEU), they strategize their electricity purchases to coincide with best rates for their purposes. Notable FEL Power MPEUs provide energy to Fairchild Semiconductor, Dragon Cement, Corinth Wood Pellets and Cianbro Construction.
Jerry Tudan, Account Manager at FEL Power, says, “The rates these MPEU accounts got last year were just phenomenal. And we’re starting this year tall. Their January supply rates are almost half what they were last year.
