If you want to demand a Spartan Race in your city or state, you had better be ready to fight for it...
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) June 09, 2013
On June 9, Spartan Race recaps the experiences of the Corn Fed Spartans in the 2012 Indiana Founders Race and the 2013 Indiana Spartan Sprint.
According to the Spartan blog, John Nolan helped establish and host the first Indiana based Spartan Race. It was named the “Founders Race,” coined by the Corn Fed Spartans, a group of racers who petitioned Spartan Race to hold a race in Indiana. The blog says the race created a family and fostered a sense of unity between all racers. The Corn Fed Spartans are heavily invested in the success of their teammates, and it has grown into a “powerful family of racers all willing to trade time and speed in order to help each and every one on the team to cross the finish line.”
Nolan says the Spartan Race community in Indiana has grown significantly over the past year in a half. Mud run and obstacle racing enthusiasts have joined together to make the Corn Fed Spartans team a success. “When Nate and I thought of this and started the team, it was simply a place to gather to get the race,” Nolan says in the blog. “But after being on this ride for the past 17 months, it has and will continue to be a staple in the OCR community along with teams like the Weeple Army, Team SISU, and NE Spahtens to name a few. We will gladly share the battlefield with them as we all become the best families we can be.”
The Corn Fed community spirit is very much alive as racers are committed to helping their fellow racers finish.
Joe De Sena, founder and CEO of Spartan Race, applauds the camaraderie of the Corn Fed Spartans. “If you want to demand a Spartan Race in your city or state, you had better be ready to fight for it. The perseverance of the Corn Fed Spartans led us to form the Founders Race in Indiana. The race was so popular that we came back to Indiana in 2013. We plan on holding another race in Indiana in 2014.”
