The whole process from the beginning examination, to the surgery, to the post-surgery reexam are ordered so seamlessly, it completely eliminated my worry of not [being] familiar with the American medical procedure.

Lan Wang traveled all the way to Christenbury Eye Center from Beijing, China to restore her sight. Dr. Jonathan Christenbury recently performed a successful TECNIS multifocal procedure on both eyes on Wang. She recuperated with her friend in Belmont, NC, and returned a day later to find her vision was restored to 20/20 for distance and near.
Wang was thrilled about eliminating the need for bifocals. She says, “In Chinese, there is a proverb called ‘miao shou hui chun’ which literally means restore youth by a magic hand (touch). These are the words I am talking to my Chinese friends and strongly suggest them to go through the surgery with you. The whole process from the beginning examination, to the surgery, to the post-surgery reexam are ordered so seamlessly, it completely eliminated my worry of not [being] familiar with the American medical procedure. It was a wonderful experience to be a patient with Christenbury Eye Center,” she continues. Read more about Wang’s experience on the Christenbury Eye Center Wall of Fame.
The TECNIS Multifocal procedure corrects near, distance and intermediate vision. The procedure allows one to clearly watch TV, drive, work on a computer and read a smart phone without glasses, contacts, reading glasses or bifocals. TECNIS lasts a lifetime and patients usually are back to all normal activities within a week.
“Mrs. Wang was a wonderful patient and we are pleased to provide this much-needed service to someone from a country where the procedure was unavailable,” says Dr. Jonathan Christenbury, Medical Director at Christenbury Eye Center.
