On the surface it is a fictional murder mystery thriller, but woven throughout is the harsh reality of the consequences of child abuse in real life.
This is the story of the possible extreme consequences of child abuse and the horrible aftermath it can create. It is a story of parallels between good and evil, madness and sanity, fear and faith, cause and effect, and the unsettling distinction between what is visible to the eye and what it reality.

He has secrets too from his childhood that followed him into adulthood and that half haunt him and half blessedly he can't remember. It becomes Mike's job to catch this illusive serial killer that is stalking the streets of southern California and will become the test in his life between either regaining his life back or spiraling down into the pits of madness and destruction.
When these two worlds collide in a cataclysmic explosion it reveals the darkest secret of all that binds these two players together more than they each realize. And in a game of cat and mouse, that there can be only one survivor, it reveals to each how the darkest secrets can destroy and push lives into madness.

About the author: John Reid lives in the mountains above Bakersfield California with his wife where he works as an accountant. He has been writing crime novels since he was a teenager and this is his first published work. He has done extensive research through readings, psychology classes, and life's experiences.
