It was during a mission trip to Haiti following the tragic 2010 earthquake when singer-songwriter LUNA found inspiration for her single, “Together We Are Strong”, currently featured in the BEAT100 Original Music Video Chart. While volunteering with The Global Orphan Project, LUNA says she “…truly felt God's heart through the children there. My life was changed and I wanted to write a song about unity and how we can all be there for each other through love.” The result is a positive, uplifting pop and R&B single, featuring the powerful and magnificent vocals of this talented singer-songwriter. Offering a hopeful message to listeners, “Together We Are Strong” was recently awarded a BEAT100 Gold Video Award, Song Award, and Favorite Award as the track and accompanying music video moves up in the charts.
“There has always been a fire deep inside of me to be an artist since I was a young child,” says LUNA. Writing her first songs at the age of 10, LUNA says she took advantage of every opportunity to perform and share her talents by singing in church, at school, and performing in musicals while developing her ear and ability to perform for an audience. After recording her first demo project about nine years ago, LUNA has achieved a successful music career, with major performances across California and the U.S., as well as a tour in Tokyo, Japan sponsored by FOX. LUNA recently gained major popularity on BEAT100 for her outstanding acoustic cover of Swedish House Mafia’s, ‘Don’t You Worry Child’, and continues to impress with her release of, “Together We Are Strong” and singles, “Forever Yours” and “Breakthrough”, off her upcoming album “Project Purple”.
“Project Purple” features all original tracks by LUNA and is set for release this April 2013 on iTunes. The idea for a full-length album originated from the song ‘Breakthrough’, currently featured on LUNA’s BEAT100 profile and on her website. “’Breakthrough’ touched my heart so deeply and marked the beginning of a new me and a new sound and style of music that I really connected with,” says LUNA. While LUNA’s initial idea was to create an acoustic album, her sound continued to evolve through the process of writing and recording, resulting in 14 original tracks containing a full ensemble of electric guitars, drums, and bass, forming a creative blend of rock and soul music. “I know I could not have done any of this without God leading me through it all,” says LUNA, “It takes a lot of faith, dedication, and perseverance to put together an album and I’m so excited for the world to hear it.” The album promises to remain consistent with LUNA’s mission to project positive messages of peace, unity, righteousness, purpose, love, and equality throughout her music.

Students from the Kabale School in Uganda and young singers from the Salvation Army choir, in LUNA’s hometown of Modesto, California, unite to accompany her throughout the recording and video of, “Together We Are Strong”. “Uniting the voices of the two countries is very symbolic of what “Together We Are Strong” is about,” says LUNA. “This project has definitely been my favorite musical and life experience so far.” LUNA’s three track album includes a remix and acoustic version of the song and is available online for purchase. All proceeds benefit the Salvation Army and the Kabale School in Uganda.
