BEAT100.com were pleased to see Ultimate Musician, Josh Doyle, giving everything he’s got in his live performance at The Borderline in London on Monday 25th March, 2013. The talented singer-songwriter performed an intimate hour long set to an audience full of wild, supportive fans and industry professionals. He appeared happy to be home in London for the first time in a while, and even about looking forward to the traditional fish and chips and hot sausage rolls on a cold London afternoon.

Josh Doyle, former lead singer of Dum Dum’s who broke up in 2001, proved worthy of another shot in the music industry as he performed a versatile set, with a mixture of old and new songs. The Nashville-based musician even relived the past when he performed a Dum Dum’s song, “Closer To You”, which he confessed to be more of a “stalker song” than a love song. The catchy track had the crowd moving and cheering as he connected with members of the London audience. Josh also continued to wow the audience as he performed both fast and slow songs, with the accompaniment of a guitarist, bassist, drummer and cellist. His set list included many new and old songs, including “Meaning Of Life”, “Aphrodite” and the stunning self-penned track, “I Figured The World Out”.

Not only did Josh perform up to scratch musically, but he also had a way with the audience that is rare to see in the current world of music. His connection with the audience was mesmerising as he opened his heart to the audience by explaining the meaning to every song and proceeded to use his comically gifted personality to pull the audience even further in. The intriguing part about it was that it was clear he was just being ‘Josh Doyle’, and his personality shined through all the lights, camera, action.

Users can vote for Josh’s music video, “Solarstorms”, which is currently in the top 20 of the BEAT100 Original Music Video Chart and featured on the Ultimate Musician page. Josh’s self-titled debut album is also available for purchase on iTunes.
