Three young singers have emerged victorious on the popular BEAT100 Covers Music Chart after seeing off competition from thousands of other hopefuls. Sapphire, aged 9, Alesi Summer, aged 12, both from England, UK and 13-year-old Isabel Iris from the Philippines won first, second and third prize respectively, each winning a cash prize along with worldwide exposure to thousands of music lovers.
Nine-year-old Sapphire from the UK has won the top prize of $250 after seeing off the challenge by thousands of other users of the BEAT100 Network to come first in the overall BEAT100 Covers Music Charts. The young singer has had thousands of users on the network showing their support by voting for her rendition of the song 'Diamonds' by Rihanna. The song was a huge hit in America in 2012, going up to number one in the US Charts and topping the Billboard Top 100 but that didn't put off young Sapphire who, in her video, performs a flawless version of her own.
"When I put my cover of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” by Taylor Swift onto BEAT100, I made it to No.22, I was really happy! I then released a Christmas chart entry a cover of a UK artist called ‘Shakin’ Stevens’, which got to number 11. When I uploaded my cover of “Diamonds” by Rihanna, I got to No.1 and won! It was the best thing ever! I enjoyed my experience on Beat100 and made many new friends and followers as a result,” explained Sapphire.
Budding young singer, Alesi Summer, won a $150 cash prize on BEAT100 after her rendition of the hit, 'Skyfall' by UK superstar Adele, came second in the overall BEAT100 Cover Music Video Charts. The gifted young singer from Birmingham, UK uploaded the home video of herself singing the 2012 hit to a backing track and impressed so much that users worldwide on the popular BEAT100 Music Video Network have given their vote. She only narrowly missed out on first place, but was still impressive enough to beat off thousands of other entries to a cash prize and place in the highly coveted top 3!
"I have always loved to entertain my family and friends from a young age. I love to sing, dance, act and hang out with my friends, I have recently started entering competitions and auditioning for shows,” writes Alesi on her BEAT100 Page. "Maybe one day this could be my life, how amazing would that be, who knows!”
13-year-old, Isabel Iris, has become a massive hit on the music video network BEAT100.com, coming in third in the overall Covers Charts with her rendition of the song 'Glad You Came' by British-Irish megastars, The Wanted. The teenager, who lives in the Philippines with her family, has had BEAT100 users from around the world voting in their thousands after showcasing her vocal talent and displaying great composure on the acoustic guitar whilst performing the 2011 summer hit on webcam and was clearly beaming when told of her $100 prize.
"I am very thankful to BEAT100, and most especially to my family, friends and supporter,” says Isabel. "This is my biggest achievement in music so far. I found joining BEAT100 a fun, exciting and challenging experience. It gave me an opportunity to share my talent and promote my music videos. I enjoyed it very much. I started singing at the age of four and I have joined local contests like Little/Big Star in the Philippines. I wish to continue my dream of writing my own music and producing quality videos.”
