The votes are cast and April 8th winners of the BEAT100 Cover Music Video Chart are announced! This month, first place is awarded to Isabel Iris while second goes to Alina Toma and third to second-time BEAT100 winner Ivana van der Veen. These three musicians received the most votes from BEAT100 users for their impressive cover vocal performances and musicianship.

In first place this month, thirteen-year-old singer, Isabel Iris, stuns BEAT100 users with her mature voice and performance of, ‘Skinny Love’ by Bon Iver. Born in the Philippines, Isabel says she was inspired to become a musician at an early age because of the “self-expression, dedication, and motivation” music provides her. “I grew up with Disney superstars like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato, but as time passes my tastes and preferences have also grown up,” says Isabel, “I [now] love classical, dubstep, and country music.” With influences ranging from Lindsey Stirling to Owl City, Nicki Minaj, and Skrillex, Isabel’s diverse musical interests are as impressive as her musical ability. “I started playing piano at the age of 7 and am presently learning other instruments like violin and guitar,” says Isabel. Not only can she sing and perform, but Isabel also edits and produces her own music videos, like the video for ‘Skinny Love’. After seeing Megan Landry’s post on BEAT100 in past months, Isabel was encouraged to try posting her own video as well. “I’ve found joining BEAT100 a fun, exciting, and challenging experience,” she reflects. “It’s given me an opportunity to share my talent and promote my videos. I enjoy it very much.”

In addition to pursuing her musical talents, Isabel also recently starred in indie film ‘Biktima’, playing the role of ‘Emma’, while achieving consistent honor role status in school and participating as a junior black belt in Taekwondo. BEAT100 users should look for Isabel on the BEAT100 charts in coming months, as she plans to continue writing her own music and producing music videos. “I am really happy with my achievement [of BEAT100 top three status],” she says, “I am very thankful to BEAT100, and most especially to my family, friends, and supporters.” Isabel received over 14,000 views on BEAT100 this past month and, as encouragement to other BEAT100 musicians, she says: “Dare to dream if you can. Believe you can and you will.”

Watch Alina Toma's music video on BEAT100. Alina Toma claims second place on the BEAT100 Cover Music Video Chart this month with her cover of the popular Gnarls Barkley song, ‘Crazy’. The Romanian musician achieved over 11,000 views for her outstanding performance of the song, along with extremely positive feedback and support from BEAT100 fans. “I’ve been singing since I was 12,” says Alina. “I was also really good at math and physics, so my parents guided me towards a career oriented future. They were quite shocked when, suddenly at 24, I quit my job as a trainer in a multinational corporation and decided to focus on music!” Alina has already achieved much since her recent decision to pursue music full-time.

After initiating her career by singing in pubs and piano bars, Alina met her current band mates and began performing around Romania. She soon started collaborating with mainstream artists throughout the songwriting process and has proudly contributed to writing lyrics for numerous songs played on the radio throughout Europe, including the hit, ‘If You Ever Feel” by Viky Red. Alina also recently tried out for ‘The Voice of Romania’ and is currently working on her own original tracks for release in the near future.

Ivana van der Veen, third place winner in the April 8 BEAT100 Cover Music Video Chart, achieved over 9,000 views from BEAT100 fans with her cover of the One Direction song, ‘Little Things’. This is the second time Ivana has achieved top status in the BEAT100 charts, as this talented singer and songwriter was also recognized with first place status for her original song, ‘Rain’, in the February BEAT100 charts.

Based in the Netherlands, Ivana began producing her own music videos when she was just fourteen, releasing her debut single, ‘You’re The One’, in 2011, previous to major performances and TV appearance in the Netherlands, Israel, and the UK. Since then, she’s released over a dozen original singles while continuing her live performances and music video releases. Ivana motivates fans to “Be who you are, don’t stop dreaming, and do what you believe in!”

The team at BEAT100 congratulates all of this month’s BEAT100 Cover Music Video Chart winners for their hard work and outstanding vocal cover performances.
