Young Band With Royal Bloodline to See First National Release

Rock band led by son of original Prince guitarist continues to build national buzz with release of IDN-distributed EP

Nashville, TN (Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) November 16, 2006 -- Nashville-based post-emo foursome LENNY, a young band with a royal musical pedigree, is staking their claim to the national music scene, thanks to an upcoming CD release and rapidly growing buzz about them.

Since releasing their independent debut EP Via Satellite in early 2005, LENNY has been building their fanbase through live performance, Internet and radio exposure. Their first single, "Blinded By The Sun", climbed to #14 on the Friday Morning Quarterback (FMQB) Submodern/Specialty Top 25 Singles chart in 2005. They have shared the stage with Columbia artists Switchfoot, Epic act Vendetta Red, Atlantic/Fueled By Ramen artists Paramore and others. The band has drawn comparisons to My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Thrice, and Jimmy Eat World.

LENNY is lead by chief songwriter JD Dickerson (20) on guitar and lead vocals. While LENNY's members are young, they have a combined 30+ years of musical experience. Dickerson boasts a strong music heritage -- he is the son of original Prince and the Revolution guitarist Dez Dickerson, the ubiquitous guy with the Japanese headband in the classic videos "1999" and "Little Red Corvette".

Having grown up in and around the music business, Jordan Dickerson is no stranger to the spotlight. At age 10, he led a pop-punk trio that went on to release two albums, tour most of the US, land a Top Ten radio single, receive press coverage in major publications (including Billboard, 16, and many more), and garner fan club members in 14 countries.

LENNY's first as-yet-untitled national release is scheduled for Q1 '07. The seven song EP will be released on The Momentum Label (an imprint owned by JD), in collaboration with the band's management, Pavilion Entertainment, through IDN. The band expects to tour extensively through the Spring.
