The ITEXPO Best-of-Show award substantiates the quality of VOIPFUTURE’s technology, and TMC’s recognition further validates our strategy to broaden the NACT product portfolio, concludes Goodstein.

NACT Solutions, LLC (NACT) today announced that it received a “Best of Show” award at TMC’s ITEXPO West 2010 in Los Angeles last week. NACT received this award in the Best Service Provider category for the RTP Monitoring Technology that is developed by NACT’s partner VOIPFUTURE.

Hamburg, Germany-based VOIPFUTURE’s RTP monitoring technology is exclusively sold and distributed by NACT in the United States and Canada. It enables communication service providers to monitor the quality of voice traffic crossing their IP networks, and use the data to troubleshoot problems, optimize the performance of their networks, and document the quality of individual call minutes exchanged between peering partners. This software-based technology is easy-to-deploy, and it allows voice carriers to guarantee premium services, reduce churn, increase network utilization, and also reduce the time and effort spent resolving voice quality problems.

“Offering competitive voice services poses a number of challenges that are influenced by the dynamic behavior of IP networks, and effective, easy-to-use monitoring capabilities play an essential role for voice service providers,” said Arnie Goodstein, President of NACT Solutions. “VOIPFUTURE’s Smart RTP Monitoring technology provides a level of granularity and quality that is simply unmatched by any other offering in the industry, and we’re grateful to TMC’s editorial staff for recognizing this with a Best-of-Show award.”

“ITEXPO in LA was the largest and most successful event we’ve ever produced, and this year’s Best-of-Show winners faced an even greater challenge differentiating themselves from a large and highly competitive field,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO and group editor-in-chief of TMC. “We’re proud to honor companies like NACT Solutions with a Best-of-Show Award.”

The addition of network monitoring capabilities to the NACT product portfolio is the latest step in a larger effort to expand and diversify NACT’s offerings. “The ITEXPO Best-of-Show award substantiates the quality of VOIPFUTURE’s technology, and TMC’s recognition further validates our strategy to broaden the NACT product portfolio, concludes Goodstein.”

The VOIPFUTURE system is designed to monitor the quality of voice services in IP networks. It consists of passive RTP monitoring probes and a management platform. The probes are typically deployed at network borders and connected to up to four links in a non-intrusive manner. The probes analyze all RTP streams in real-time and provide over 400 dedicated voice metrics for each 5 second segment of each stream. The analysis is based on a unique combination of packet flow analysis and deep packet inspection which allows to determine root causes and diagnostics data. All data is stored in VOIPFUTURE quality data records (QDR) and retrieved by the management platform which post-processes the information and offers a graphical interface to the users.

The detailed QDR information provides the foundation for the integrated voice quality evaluation and troubleshooting technology. Applications of the VOIPFUTURE system include network performance and VoIP customer experience monitoring. The VOIPFUTURE solution enables communication service providers (CSPs) to detect and correlate impairments originating from network equipment or end user devices, providing a complete view of each call. This enables CSPs to offer premium voice services as well as to meet stringent voice SLAs and document their performance.

The carrier-grade solution offers leading real time analysis performance, with up to 42,000 simultaneously monitored calls per probe on up to four links. One Gigabit links can be monitored at full line rate; monitoring of 10 Gbit/s interfaces is also supported. The centralized management platform controls all probes and is capable of processing hundreds of millions of call minutes per day. Still, the VOIPFUTURE solution is cost-effective, as it makes efficient use of standard servers with multi-CPU and a multi-core architecture.

The ITEXPO Best of Show Awards recognize innovative products and solutions that were featured in the exhibit hall during the event. This designation serves to highlight the technological achievement and creative product features that set these winners apart from the rest of the crowd. TMC’s editorial staff evaluated the pre-show nominations, and met with vendors to inspect and review the displayed products on the first day of the Expo. A full list of the winners is posted on TMC’s Web site at http://www.tmcnet.com.
