The only reason we won this award is because of the support of our 50,000 Naked Wine Angels - customers who have transformed the lives and businesses of our winemakers.

Online wine retailer Naked Wines walked away with the Best All Round Business Award at this year’s ECMOD Direct Commerce Awards, in the £5-£10 million business-to-consumer category.
Launched in December 2008 by former Virgin Wines Founder and CEO Rowan Gormley, the Norwich-based retailer beat 100s of UK businesses to win the accolade.
“The only reason we won this award is because of the support of our 50,000 Naked Wine Angels,” explained Rowan Gormley.
“Between them, they invest £1million a month to support our network of independent winemakers, who otherwise wouldn’t have a UK market.
By buying their wines before they’ve been made, they eliminate a huge amount of risk and cost for the producer – in return for exclusive wines at preferential prices.”
Other ECMOD winners, which span multi-channel retail sectors, include Boden, Ironmongery Direct, Thompson and Morgan and Laithwaites Wine.
Producers looking for UK representation and funding can apply to work with the retailer at http://www.nakedwines.com/suppliers (no agents please).
