We’ve decided that it’s more important for businesses and individuals to be able to register domains and start a business for the lowest possible price.
Fayetteville, NC (PRWEB) March 26, 2012
Domain name registrar, N@me IT, announced Monday that they will be changing their domain registration pricing for registrations, renewals and transfers to $7.99 or better on all TLD extensions. The price change is being called “permanent” by the company. The extensions receiving this pricing will be the popular .com domains, along with the .org, .info, and .biz. The .net and .us domain extensions will be $6.99 per year. The domain name registrar cited recent gas price hikes for the idea that generated the discount pricing.
Director of Marketing, David Green said, “We’ve decided that it’s more important for US businesses and individuals to be able to register domains and start a business for the lowest possible price. This helps our economy, and potentially creates jobs. Our technical systems are integrated with the back end registries for these domain names and most of our other overhead is extremely low."
When asked how the company will handle industry and registry price changes, Green said, “Our plan is to keep our margins very slim and pass that savings on to the customer. We know our costs from both ICANN and each registry, so we’ll keep the prices as low as possible. If ICANN or the specific TLD registry increase their pricing, we will do so as well, but we’ll try to keep only a 10% margin for these TLD.”
