“It gives me great pleasure to present Julia with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “I applaud her for using her expertise to build a successful business enterprise.”

Ms. Matto founded Jewel Silk Scarves after retiring from working in the school system in 2013. Her skills and areas of expertise include customer service, social media marketing and website design. She offers her customers a wide variety of environment-friendly garments sourced and handmade by artisan groups in India. Masters of their craft, they use the finest Ikat and Merino wool to create traditionally unique designs preserving their traditional art forms using eco-friendly materials and organic natural dyes, all made by hand. These artisans maintain a sustainable livelihood and great pride is put into their craft to pass on to the next generation.

“I believe helping women include accessorizing in their lives is a wonderful mood enhancer that adds a great sense of accomplishment to our life's journey,” said Ms. Matto.

Jewel Silk Scarves also features a unique line of jewelry from exotic bracelets and necklaces to scarf charms designed to complete the latest fashion trend. All are made by a skilled team of metalworkers, engravers and enamellers who are involved in each stage of the jewelry-making process. Included in Ms. Matto's inventory are classic cotton tunics that are available in a variety of flattering colors, along with basic shawls and sarongs inspired by Middle Eastern culture.

NAPW's mission is to provide an exclusive, highly advanced networking forum to successful women executives, professionals and entrepreneurs where they can aspire, connect and achieve. Through innovative resources, unique tools and progressive benefits, professional women interact, exchange ideas, advance their knowledge and empower each other.
