She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. With more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating local chapters, NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women.

“It gives me great pleasure to present Thelma with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “She used her expertise to build a successful business enterprise.”

With a natural love for cooking and people, Thelma Luckey combined both to please as many as she can with her business, Thelma’s Down Home Cooking in Salisbury, NC. Ms. Luckey provides her customers with delicious home-style meals that include a wide variety of dishes always cooked with fresh local ingredients.

“For years I have been cooking and that keeps people coming back time and time again,” she says on her website. “Every meal has my special touch on it so it tastes just like your grandma used to make it, only better!”

With a large enough space, Ms. Luckey is able to provide customers the perfect venue for any bridal dinner, business meeting or a large family gathering. Launching soon, Thelma’s Down Home Cooking will be available as an app, allowing the community to conveniently order from their cell phones. She is also making it easy to order on Facebook and the website, whether it is for the ‘day of’ or pre-ordering for the next week. An active veteran philanthropist, Ms. Luckey hosts a Vet Coffee and Breakfast every Tuesday. She is currently working on creating her own cookbook and would like to open a second location and food wagon in the near future.
