The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Jennifer Call as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in mental health. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

“I’m pleased to welcome Jennifer into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “She and her company are making great strides in the mental health field.”

Jennifer Call was inspired to pursue a career in the mental health field by a family she worked with while in college. “The two boys were on the Autism Spectrum. I fell in love with them,” she recalled. “I changed my major at Texas A&M to Special Education.”

As Clinical Director at Apex Behavior Consulting, Ms. Call oversees all Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, trains new behavior technicians, works with supervisors overseeing programming, manages intake of new families to services and insurance coverage and coordinates with Support Coordinators.

Ms. Call, who went on to obtain her Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis, taught in the public school system for nine years. At Apex, she now works with families on IEP and school-related topics, manages autism programming, writes behavior treatment plans and trains parents in ABA practices and parenting techniques. She is rewarded time and again when children she has worked with have small and large personal successes, and she sees evidence of the positive impact of what they’ve accomplished on their parents’ faces.

“I’ve been blessed to work with so many families both as a teacher and Clinical Director. I recently received a text message video from a former student who had no functional language while in my class,” she said. “The video was of her talking in full sentences and conversing with her mother. There is nothing more rewarding.” In addition to her continued work with children and their families, Ms. Call plans to advocate for better insurance coverage for ABA services so it is more accessible to all families in need.

Awards & Accomplishments: Master of Education, Sam Houston State University, Applied Behavior Analysis; Bachelor’s, Special Education, Texas A&M, Best in State 2015 Utah
