The NAPW Buffalo Local Chapter met to plan an upcoming spa day and future networking meeting agendas this November. Members present included Nicki Land, Patty Collins, Sally Lewis, Katherine Campbell, Merry Constantino and Chapter President Maria Tarnev-Wydro who presented on skin care and well being.

Maria opened the meeting with a discussion about having a “woman’s spa day” in December to have a fun, interactive meeting. It was agreed that the meeting in December would be an informal “spa day” on Thursday, December 15th at 7pm at Sally Lewis's house in Williamsville. This will allow our group the opportunity to get to know each other better in a more informal atmosphere.

The group discussed a list of local events that were coming up that are of interest to all small business owners and professionals. The University of Buffalo Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership is having an open house in December. The University of Buffalo Alumni Association is having a few events that present networking opportunities that the group will be planning to attend. Patty mentioned a networking opportunity at the Hyatt on December 1st as well and she anticipates over 400 people attending.

“We hope to take advantage of all of these great events,” Maria said. “They help stir up business and keep us involved with our community.”

All attendees took turns introducing themselves and gave 3-5 minute presentations to explain their businesses and how they can help other members of the group.

The chapter then held a discussion about all of the member benefits of NAPW, such as local networking, regional and national exposure and support, website, perks and discounts on the website. The chapter discussed ideas on how to get the word out about future meetings and how to grow the local Buffalo Chapter.

A presentation was given by Maria Tarnev-Wydro, HD, owner of Essona Organics. Members may find out more about Essona Organics by visiting http://www.essona.com. Essona Organics is about organic skin care and proper nutrition and how they can work together to alleviate skin problems and enhance natural beauty. Maria presented a short video about chemicals that may be harmful and are often found in major brand skin care.

She also spoke about a new product she has produced called QuikCure (http://www.QuikCure.com) for problem skin. It is specifically formulated for problems like eczema, rash, rosacea, p. rosea, and psoriasis. Her customers were often asking for solutions to these problems and this inspired her to come up with this product. Over 20 % of the population has some kind of skin problem and she has come up with a natural solution to provide relief for these people.

The next Buffalo Local Chapter meeting will be held on December 15th at 7pm at Sally Lewis’s house. “Let's get the word out and have a fun and interactive meeting,” Maria said.
