Members and guests of the NAPW Indianapolis, IN Local Chapter gathered on December 10th for a professional networking meeting at Stone Creek, 4450 Weston Pointe Drive in Zionsville. Chapter President Lynn Moore announced at the meeting that the Chapter had been contacted by PNC Bank and Honda about networking with their organizations, a testament to the Indianapolis, IN Local Chapter’s powerful networking opportunities and impressive membership.
Also discussed at the event was the Chapter’s continued support of Dayspring Center, a local emergency shelter for homeless families, as well as meeting dates and topics for the coming year.
“We have been contacted by PNC Bank and Honda to network with their organizations,” announced the Chapter President at the December meeting. “They have turned to us in their effort to further connect professional women to leadership and more networking opportunities, and to create job awareness among women.”
As further proof of the Indianapolis Local Chapter’s indelible impact on the community, Lynn also announced that the Indianapolis Business Journal had included the Chapter in their 2013 list of Indianapolis-Area Business and Professional Organizations, ranked by membership.
“We are clearly showing up everywhere; the Indianapolis local Chapter is now over 275 members strong!” said Lynn.
In the spirit of the holiday season, and in support of Dayspring Center, an organization that provides emergency shelter, clothing, and three nourishing meals a day for homeless families with children in central Indiana, the NAPW Indianapolis Local Chapter adopted a family that includes two boys and two girls ranging in age from 7 to 12. Member Nita Conaway coordinated this project and accepted donations up to December 10th to allow time to shop and deliver the gifts by December 14th. The Chapter’s goal was $1,200.
“We would like to offer them a happy Christmas that includes gifts their parents are not able to afford at this time,” said Lynn. “We are halfway there, so thank you everyone! And remember, for every $25 donation, NAPW members will have their name entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.”
Donations may be sent to Nita (checks made out to Nita Conaway nita.conaway(at)divsys(dot)com) at DIVSYS International, LLC, 8110 Zionsville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268 before December 12th.
