Members and guests of the NAPW Palo Alto, CA Local Chapter gathered on the evening of September 20th for a professional networking meeting. The event was held at the Palo Alto office of Dr. Rubye Cervelli. The guest speaker was Palo Alto, CA Chapter President Dr. April J. Modesti , who shared gluten-free recipes, healthy eating tips, and much more from her new cookbook/journal, Mandala Salad.
Once members and guests had the opportunity to introduce themselves and network, Dr. Modesti introduced her new book, Mandala Salad. Along with delicious gluten free recipes, the inspirational guide/cookbook/journal offers readers simple practices to nourish the body and satisfy the spirit.
Dr. Modesti explained that gluten sensitivity is a problem in the small intestine, yet symptoms may be digestive in nature, but may affect many other areas of the body as well. One person in five is affected in some way and women are three times more likely to be affected than men.
“Mandala Salad is the guide to eating well because both what we eat and how we eat is important,” said Dr. Modesti. “My book offers simple steps to enhance the experience of eating along with delicious gluten-free recipes that all can enjoy. It can be used to lead you beyond the kitchen into a journey of self-discovery.”
Members and guests learned much from Dr. Modesti ‘s informative presentation about healthy eating options.
“Lots of questions were asked and a good time was had by all,” said the Author and Palo Alto Chapter President.
Mandala Salad may be purchased at amazon.com as an e-book or printed book, as well as from Dr. Modesti or from one of several bookstores. Anyone with further questions about gluten sensitivity may contact Dr. Modesti at 650-949-1089 and/or serenitychiro(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
The next Palo Alto, CA Local Chapter meeting will be on October 18th. The guest speaker will be Alexandra Bley who will discuss hypnotherapy. The upcoming meeting will again be held at the office of Dr. Modesti, and a meal will be shared.
In attendance at the Palo Alto September meeting were Suzette Pangrle, Cathy Goodell, Rubye Cervelli, and April Modesti.
