Members and guests of the NAPW South County Local Chapter gathered on July 12th for a professional networking meeting at Mimi's Café, located at 27430 La Paz Road, in Laguna Niguel. It was the first official meeting of the newly launched Chapter, which is the latest of NAPW’s nearly 400 Local Chapters around the country. Laura Bazerman-Swanson was named the Chapter’s new President.

Laura, a Business Consultant of Source One Payment Solutions, a local Southern California Merchant Processing organization, said she was thrilled to be heading up the newest NAPW Local Chapter.

“I look forward to being a part of the growth of NAPW in the South County area of California,” she said.

The South County Chapter will also serve NAPW members in surrounding areas of South County including Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, El Toro, Ladera Ranch, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, and Corona Del Mar.

NAPW provides on-line seminars, podcasts, webinars, and educational tools and is organized to help foster networking and career development skills that enable members to achieve personal and career success.

“Through the NAPW website, members can network with other women, research, uncover, and review professional and social issues and opportunities that can materially impact business development, career advancement, and their social well-being,” said Cindy Burns, NAPW’s National Director of Local Chapters.

“Local chapters are being organized to enhance the NAPW experience by encouraging members to go beyond the benefits offered through the NAPW website,” noted Burns. “By meeting face-to-face with area members, women who take advantage of the Local Chapters can now, more aggressively, share business and related challenges, explore opportunities and solutions, and collectively tap resources that might not be available to individuals who are not affiliated with an organized group, such as NAPW.”

The new South County Chapter President agreed with Cindy. While she praised the on-line benefits offered by NAPW, Laura is excited about the added perks members will get from meeting regularly as a group now that the Chapter has officially taken off.

“The on-line benefits offered by NAPW are helpful to me and to other members I’ve networked with,” said Laura. “But I’m confident that with the additional face-to-face exposure to area members and the greater sense of camaraderie that is sure to evolve through regular attendance at our local meetings, NAPW’s South County Chapter members will soon be experiencing a new, higher level of value and satisfaction.”

To date, NAPW has nearly 400,000 members throughout the United States. Professional women who are interested in joining NAPW and meeting women at area chapters can do so by contacting Cindy Burns at (516) 877-5500 ext. 3203, who will organize direct contact with the appropriate Local Chapter President.

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) is the largest and most recognized network of female professionals. NAPW provides a forum where women can interact, exchange ideas, educate, network, and empower. NAPW Local Chapters allow members to maximize their experience through meetings, networking opportunities, and professional events.
