In December, National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) - Waldorf Local Chapter got to the Rot of the Root

NAPW Waldorf Local Chapter networked and learned about taking responsibility for life’s experiences and outcomes with speaker Tammy L.S. Wright at the December chapter meeting.

The National Association of Professional Women's Waldorf Local Chapter opened with introductions, professional networking, and the sharing of good information. Tammy L.S. Wright, Sekema Rhodes, Tonja Brooks, and Carol Davis were in attendance.

The chapter started their December’s meeting with networking and eating dinner. It was catered by Apple Spice Junction located in La Plata, Maryland. Everyone loved the atmosphere, food, and location of the meeting. “This is the first time that we’ve held our meeting at ABC Wellness & Fitness Center,” Tammy said.

The chapter’s speaker for the meeting was Tammy L.S. Wright. She is the co-founder and co-owner of ABC Wellness & Fitness Center located in Waldorf, Maryland. She started her presentation with reading an excerpt by Ilanya Vanzant titled ‘Getting to the Rot of Root Rot.’ “As we go into the New Year that it is important that we pull up the rotten roots in our lives,” she said.

She emphasized that following passage from Getting to the Rot of Root Rot, “Remember, you are responsible for every experience in your life. Experiences come to show you what you really believe. Pull up the root, and it will die.”

Tammy opened the floor for the following positions: Secretary, Treasurer, and Media Coordinator. The chapter agreed to move around the tasks of the Secretary to eliminate the position and make it Communications Coordinator. The Communications Coordinator role was taken on by Sekema Rhodes. Tonia Brooks will serve as Treasurer, and Carol Davis as Media Coordinator.

The Waldorf Local Chapter’s next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, January 17th at 6:30pm.

The NAPW – Waldorf Chapter meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm at Old Country Buffet located in Waldorf, Maryland. The location is subject to change based upon planned activities and presentations.
