The group of professional women discussed exciting upcoming Chapter events including joining forces with the nearby Philadelphia Chapter and supporting the local Dress for Success organization.
The Collegeville Local Chapter President Celinet Ortiz kicked off the meeting by welcoming attendees to the networking event.
“I see many familiar faces and I would like to welcome our newest member, Dana Pirone Carosella and our guest, Candace Badzik,” said the Chapter President.
The group of professional women discussed The NAPW 2013 National Networking Conference, Spark. Ignite Your Network in New York City on Friday, April 26th.
Attendees then began a discussion about their desire to work with the local Dress for Success organization.
Member Kimberly Villanueva suggested the Collegeville Chapter reach out to other small NAPW Chapters such as the Delaware County Chapter and pool their resources together to have an even bigger impact when it comes to supporting the nonprofit.
“The largest known Local Chapter in the area is the NAPW Philadelphia Chapter. In the future, we may attend one of their meetings by carpooling to the city. We may also ask to participate in one of their events,” said Collegeville Chapter President Celinet.
In an effort to let more Collegeville Chapter members know about upcoming monthly events, the group discussed how the meetings and events are announced. In addition to announcements on the Chapter Page and LinkedIn Page, other ways to let others know were discussed.
Chapter Secretary Christine Lange offered to contact NAPW Collegeville Chapter member Cheryl Raiken, in the hopes that Ms. Raiken would offer her services to the Chapter. With hopes of increasing member participation at meetings, the Chapter decided to change the meeting location and hold the next monthly meeting, scheduled for May 22nd at 6:15, at The Pub at Wegmans.
“At the next meeting, I will present a lesson on nutrition,” said the Chapter President. “Ms. Carosella suggested I focus on the topic of foods that decrease stress and foods that increase stress. After the meeting, interested members can go grocery shopping for those stress-reducing foods.”
Before concluding the meeting, members were reminded to check the NAPW Collegeville Chapter Page for up-to-date information.
Attendees at the April Chapter meeting were: Celinet Ortiz, Chapter President; Christine Lange, Chapter Secretary; Dana Pirone Carosella; Deborah Daniels; Nancy Helfrich; Kimberly Villanueva, and Candace Badzik.
The Collegeville Chapter’s newest member, Dana Pirone Carosella joins the group from the Philadelphia Chapter. Ms. Carosella is employed as Disciplinary Counsel in the District II Office of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Her office is located in Trooper, PA, hence the switch of NAPW chapters.
Ms. Badzik was invited by Nancy Helfrich. Ms. Badzik is the Store Sales Manager of Harry & David located at The Philadelphia Premium Outlets. Ms. Badzik described the services offered by Harry & David such as corporate gifts and custom gift baskets. She provided members with a Harry & David brochure, coupons, and a chocolate candy sample.
