During the luncheon event, the group of professional women learned about the power of networking and the importance of social media and how to use both to grow their businesses.
San Diego Local Chapter President René Reyes welcomed all members and guests to the meeting and had them introduce themselves by stating who they were, what they do professionally, why they joined, and what they would like the organization to do for them.
The Chapter President then delivered an insightful 30-minute presentation about the power of networking and the importance of social media.
“The valuable lesson to remember is that social media is visibility for your business. Twitter is for your fans; Facebook is for your fans and clients; and LinkedIn is for your colleagues and partners.
If you’re on anything, it’s possible that with the click of one share button you can accomplish reaching a million people,” she told the group. “You don’t have to sit and do it yourself. Open your mind to the resources of using college students."
After René concluded her talk, members and guests were encouraged to share their own stories about their fears and success with using social media.
A discussion then ensued about a possible change of venue, date, and time for San Diego Chapter meetings. The group of professional women agreed that future meetings would be held on the third Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30pm with the location to be announced.
The Chapter’s next meeting is scheduled for Thursday April 18th.
Before the conclusion of the networking meeting, the Chapter President announced a number of important upcoming dates for Chapter members.
“The Chapter’s official launch meeting will be on Thursday, May 9th, from 6:30 to 8:30pm. The location will soon be announced. Please check the San Diego Chapter Page for details,” said René.
“And don’t forget about the upcoming National Networking Convention on Friday, April 26th in New York City!”
