New members were welcome and all attendees had an opportunity to network and support one another at what was the new Chapter’s pre-launch event.
Plans for the West Denver Local Chapter’s official launch event were discussed and a tentative date was set for July 11th.
Kicking off the networking meeting was Teresa Aziam, the West Denver Local Chapter President.
After welcoming the group of professional women to the event, the Chapter President reiterated the Chapter’s mission and the new attendees shared their goals and purposes for joining the group as well as a brief background on their careers.
The President also welcomed the Chapter’s newest member.
“Denise Peck, who was not a member of NAPW prior to the meeting, has since joined and is excited to be a part of our lively, supportive group,” said West Denver Local Chapter President Teresa Aziam.
Per a suggestion from Jonnie Anderson, it was decided that members and guests will share a professional win/struggle at each meeting.
“The purpose of having attendees talk about their accomplishments and challenges is that this allows members and guests to celebrate and learn from the wins of others, while supporting and offering guidance in areas where others may be have struggled,” said President Aziam.
During the meeting, the group of professional women set solid plans in motion for the West Denver Chapter including: creating a Chapter Facebook Page where members can communicate, share ideas and find details on Chapter meetings and events; establishing the first Thursday of every month as the regular Chapter meeting time and exploring venues and potential guest speakers for upcoming meetings.
“In planning our Chapter launch, we strongly considered holding the event at the July 11th meeting,” said President Aziam. “The venue still needs to be finalized but we are looking forward to officially kicking off the West Denver Local Chapter!”
In addition to the upcoming Chapter launch on July 11th, the next West Denver Local Chapter meetings is scheduled for August 1st.
