Leaving treatment and going back out into society can make someone feel very vulnerable. Being able to represent Narconon and say ‘We’re here for you and we always will be,’ has been the most rewarding aspect of my job.
Denham Springs, LA (PRWEB) October 10, 2012
Narconon Louisiana, an alcohol and drug treatment center, welcomes its newest team member, Jennifer Hahn. Jen is a 2012 graduate of the Narconon program and recently joined the ranks at Narconon Louisiana as the Graduate Officer. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is using the tools she acquired both at Narconon and in her field of study to help individuals transition from treatment back into society.
As a Graduate Officer, Jen helps with individual assessment planning as well as helping to prepare the graduate for the workforce by assisting in creating resumes and searching internet job sites. Her duties include follow-up contacts with graduates to ensure they are progressing well on their exit plans.
Preparing for a student’s discharge and return to society as a productive member is done from the time the student arrives to do the Narconon new life program. The intention of the staff is to assist every student to complete each step of his or her rehabilitation program so their goals can be achieved. Once the student has completed all the steps of the Narconon program, Jen assists with the student’s final transition back into society.
“Leaving treatment and going back out into society can make someone feel very vulnerable. Being able to represent Narconon and say ‘We’re here for you and we always will be,’ has been the most rewarding aspect of my job,” says Jen.
The individual assessment planning includes the graduate’s immediate plans after program completion, as well as an assessment of personal relationships with immediate family, children, significant other, etc. so healthy lifestyle choices can be made.
“Helping individuals overcome addiction is an all-hands-on-deck job,” said Cathy Steiner, CEO Narconon Louisiana. “Having Jen here to assist in the final and one of the most important stages – reentry into society – has been incredibly rewarding and we are very proud to have her on board.”
Narconon Louisiana opened its doors in August, 2006. Since that time, over 400 people have successfully graduated the program and gone on to live happy, productive and drug-free lives. Narconon has been a leader in the field of long-term drug rehab addiction treatment for over four decades.
