Women Outreaching Women (WOW), a non-profit organization founded by Mona Mistric, is dedicated to helping women and children who are victims of domestic violence. WOW first opened the Domestic Hotline in 2002.

Mona and community volunteers worked two more long years and were finally able to bless the community with the opening of the first L.O.V.E. (Livingston Outreach Violence Escape) shelter on September 1, 2004. This is the first and only shelter in Livingston Parish dedicated to survivors of domestic violence.

According to the National Coalition against Domestic Violence one in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. Additionally, an estimated 1.3 million women are victims of physical assault by an intimate partner each year. Narconon Louisiana is proud to assist WOW’s commitment to helping those who suffer from domestic violence by contributing to their yearly Christmas program.

WOW currently houses nine families for a 30 day program. During the program, women are helped with job search, finding permanent housing, child care and they are given assistance in finding transport to and from their employment. WOW is dedicated to empowering women and helping them find that inner resilience inside each of them.

As of December 2012, WOW has helped 688 women and 306 children through the difficult experience of overcoming domestic violence.
