While prices remained flat, particularly condo prices, which dipped about 12 percent in March 2010 as compared to last year, home sales during the month of March, were another matter entirely. Sales saw a climb of 22 percent, as buyers rushed to make deals in order to take advantage of the tax credits issued to home buyers before the deadline on April 30, 2010.

The tax credits, $8,000 for first-time home buyers and $6,500 for repeat homebuyers, apply to contracts signed before the end of April, with the home purchase completed by June 30.

“The surge in Nashville home sales during March is considered as the best improvement since last November's figures and marks the sixth straight month of rising sales. These numbers show a lot of promise and indicate that people's outlook on the economy remain hopeful. 2010 is the best time to invest, purchase or enter the housing market in Nashville,” says Langley.

Blessed with a mostly warm climate throughout the year, world-class amenities and a high quality of life, Nashville continues to be a major metropolitan hub that's viewed as an ideal place to live, work, and play, as well as one of the nation's finest historical and cultural destinations.
