There’s just no other place like Natchitoches, with its old-world charm, balmy weather, and low cost of living.
Natchitoches, LA (PRWEB) November 16, 2011
In a recent issue, Where to Retire magazine once again numbered Natchitoches, Louisiana among the best places to retire in the country. According to the magazine feature, those who retire in Natchitoches “enjoy festivals, Cajun cuisine, waterfront living and the Cane River Creole National Park, which encompasses two plantations.”
“Natchitoches has been appearing in well-known publications over the past few years and for those of us who know the city, it’s not surprising why,” says leading Natchitoches real estate expert Janice Bolton. “There’s just no other place like Natchitoches, with its old-world charm, balmy weather, and low cost of living.”
Bolton, who leads the team at prominent local brokerage Bolton Realty, reports that the city has been named one of the country’s top retirement towns at least thrice in the past by Where to Retire magazine. “Natchitoches has been included in lists such as Top 100 Places to Retire and Eight Great Tax Friendly Towns,” she says. “What’s more, our city has also been featured in Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine and U.S. News & World Report for being a great place to retire.”
Other accolades that Natchitoches has received in recent years include being named one of Louisiana's Certified Retirement Communities and being awarded the prestigious Presidential Preserve America Award. The city was also included in the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s list of the country’s “Dozen Distinctive Destinations” in 2005 and the success of its main street program made it one of three “Great American Main Street Communities” in 2006.
