“We at SBA are excited about this renewed relationship with NBA” said Herbert Austin, District Director of SBA Dallas/Fort Worth Office.

The National Business Association (NBA) announced that it officially signed a Strategic Alliance Memorandum (SAM) with the United States Small Business Administration. The primary purpose of the strategic alliance is to fulfill a common mission shared by the SBA and NBA of helping start, maintain and expand small businesses.

The mission of the SBA is to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business by providing financial, contractual and business development assistance and advocating on their behalf within the government. SBA district offices deliver SBA programs and services to the public. Though the SBA and NBA are independent and separate entities, their collective services and resources, when delivered in coordination with each other, will provide maximum benefits to the small business communities served. “We at SBA are excited about this renewed relationship with NBA” said Herbert Austin, District Director of SBA Dallas/Fort Worth Office.

The NBA has worked with the SBA since the early 1990s primarily as an advocate for an array of small business resources and services offered by the SBA to its members and the small business community at large. “We look forward to further strengthen our relationship with the SBA in promoting its resources and working with the Small Business Administration to design and create new and innovative solutions to address the needs of the small business community,” Raj Nisankarao, president of the association said.

The spirit of entrepreneurship fuels innovation and the creation of a business venture. Access to capital is what nurtures and facilitates a person starting a small business and taking it to fruition. “SBA backed loan programs have been instrumental in promoting and nurturing the entrepreneur. The Small Business Jobs Act and an extension of reduced fees and higher guarantee loan enhancement in the SBA’s two largest loan programs [7(a) & 504] have been a tremendous boost as well,” he added. In the spirit of the alliance, NBA will make available its First Step Review software program that allows one to determine the likelihood of qualifying for a business loan, the NBA Operating Plan Forecast program and intellectual capital in the form of business intelligence and resource articles.
