Clark Construction Launches New Intranet Portal NavigationArts’ Design Connects 4,000+ Employees

Clark Construction approached NavigationArts in 2011 to help them envision a new intranet to serve several mission-critical functions: reduce the Human Resource Department’s burden by making employee documents accessible online; increase user adoption through personalized account features; foster communication and knowledge sharing via departmental discussion forums; and, connect employees across the country, giving them the tools and information they need to perform their jobs more efficiently.

NavigationArts is thrilled to announce the launch of a new intranet for Clark Construction Group, one of the Nation’s largest and most respected general contractors. Over the past century, Clark has built iconic structures such as Nationals Park, the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, and FedExField. The new intranet, ClarkNet, will serve as the hub for Clark Construction employees across the U.S. and provide a portal for promoting the company’s culture, as well as a resource for company news, and project management tools.

To achieve the desired functionality, NavigationArts customized the Sitecore Content Management System (CMS), a robust tool that empowers content authors to publish across multiple platforms, including web and mobile. NavigationArts developers integrated the CMS with multiple third party platforms to deliver exciting new features, including custom bookmarking, real-time Accuweather feed, and an interactive calendar. Additional intranet components include custom employee profile pages and faceted employee search.

“In the decade since its launch, our intranet had grown to include over 1,200 pages of content and thousands of resource documents.
