There are so many people stuck in a place of rejection, loss and sadness. I hope my book can help them seek help to find a way to move on, to find closure,” Bridges says

In her new book “The Lost Parents” (published by Balboa Press), author N. Bridges share with readers the stories of other and her own personal story, as each of them deal with the pain and trauma associated with broken childhood homes. “It’s about letting go of our painful past and old way of defining ourselves and seeking the truth of our relationships, so we can be emotionally free,” Bridges says.
“The Lost Parents” is a collection of retold true stories of difficult parent/child relationships. Bridges writes of absent parents, some who have been emotionally absent as well as physically absent. It begins and ends with Bridges’ personal account of trying to look for, and reconcile, her relationship with her natural mother. The other stories are taken from interviews with people in similar positions.
An excerpt from “The Lost Parents”:
“As I have become older, I can see different things now. I consulted an astrologer many years ago who looked at my parents charts and confirmed that they were both very frustrated people. My mother was pregnant with me before she got married, so in those days you did the right thing and got married, kind of like it or lump it. My dad had joined the navy at the age of seventeen and served in the war from the age of eighteen, so that had been his growing up, he knew of no other life outside of military service.”
“There are so many people stuck in a place of rejection, loss and sadness. I hope my book can help them seek help to find a way to move on, to find closure,” Bridges says.
