"With the advent of high performance 4G/LTE networks, we are pleased to join the ng Connect Program and have the opportunity to collaborate on solution concepts with other members." Perry Roach, CEO, Netsweeper.

Netsweeper, a leading provider of Internet content filtering and web threat management solutions and services, today announced it has joined the ng Connect Program, a multi-industry initiative driving the development of next-generation broadband services based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) and other high bandwidth technologies. As part of the program, the company will collaborate with other program members on delivering solution concepts that will enable broadband providers to manage the content delivered to endpoints on the network, smartphones, netbooks, computers and any device connected through the provider to the Internet. This will help prevent web-borne viruses and other malicious applications from utilizing the endpoints of a network while also providing these tools to offer end subscribers protection from inappropriate web content, especially where children will be accessing the Internet.

“Netsweeper’s mission is highly focused on making the Internet safe and productive for those using one of 50+ million devices we are currently monitoring,” said Perry Roach, CEO, Netsweeper. “With the advent of high performance 4G/LTE networks, we see tremendous opportunity for more powerful solutions leveraging the bandwidth and capability provided by these next generation networks and we’re pleased to join the ng Connect Program and have the opportunity to collaborate on these solution concepts with other members.”

“As we become more connected through the capability of next generation networks, security becomes even more critical to protecting our communications and activities,” said Steve West, Vice President of Emerging Technology & Media at Alcatel-Lucent, founding member of the ng Connect Program. “The ng Connect Program shares Netsweeper’s vision for creative and secure solutions to protect consumers and businesses, and we are pleased to welcome them to the program.”
