Netsweeper is excited to announce the addition of John Tennant as the Vice President, Worldwide OEM Sales. John brings more that 25 years of experience in sales and business development to Netsweeper, with a decade of knowledge, expertise and relationships in the Internet content filtering industry.
“We are ecstatic about having John join our growing team,” said Perry Roach, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Netsweeper. “His knowledge of our industry and the relationships he possesses within the content filtering marketplace will create multiple opportunities for Netsweeper. More importantly, John’s expertise in developing OEM partnerships in the web filtering and web security space is most attractive as the market players are now seeking solutions that are more dynamic in nature. In today’s market, simple URL filtering lists are not enough. Having dynamic, real-time categorization technology to maintain pace with the growth of the Internet is critical for both security and productivity reasons.”
Prior to joining Netsweeper, John has held key roles for many technology companies leading their OEM, Channel and Large Account sales efforts, as well as, successfully penetrating new emerging markets. As the Senior Director of Business Development with Commtouch (NASDAQ: CTCH), a cloud-based messaging and web security technology provider, John was focused on securing OEM partnerships with a network of URL filtering and Anti-Spam providers. Before Commtouch, as VP of Worldwide Sales for BrightCloud, John successfully launched their global URL filtering effort. He has also held similar senior roles as the Director of Business Development and OEM Sales at Surfcontrol, prior to its acquisition by Websense (NASDAQ: WBSN), and Akonix. Both organizations specialized in offering OEM applications designed for Internet content filtering and web threat management providers.
“I’ve worked in the Internet content filtering space for years, so I’ve seen and worked with a number of solutions,” commented John Tennant. “Without a doubt, Netsweeper offers a superior technology that will change the filtering industry. Accepting this role not only validates my confidence in this technology but solidifies my belief that Netsweeper will be the Internet content filtering company to watch.”
