How do I monetize social media for my organization

BusinessOnLine, a pioneering online marketing agency based in San Diego, CA, today announced the launch of the first phase of Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA) new website, http://www.newdma.org . The launch is being synchronized with DMA Chief Executive Officer, Lawrence M. Kimmel’s opening remarks at their flagship event, DMA2010 Conference & Exhibition, on Monday, October 11th, at 8:30am PST. Kimmel’s opening remarks will be streamed live on the new site in addition to the Social Media Face-off later in the day where 10 digital gurus will try to answer the question “How do I monetize social media for my organization”.

“We are extremely excited to be working with the DMA as they look to enhance their online presence to be a more effective resource for members and marketers in general”, said Thad Kahlow, CEO of BusinessOnLine. “This launch is the initial phase of a more comprehensive strategy to redefine the association and bridge digital and traditional direct marketing.”

Along with the live streaming, the website introduces the Content Hub™, an intelligent portal customized to user’s unique information preferences. The DMA represents many different constituents across diverse industries so there is a tremendous amount of information generated making it challenging for members to find relevant information for their needs. The Content Hub will initially stream all the latest news and insight from DMA updates, social media, industry news sources and industry thought leaders with the next phase introducing advanced filtering for users.

“Change is happening at DMA and our online presence will be a focal point to communicate and spur this change”, according to Karina Pena Garcia, Senior Director of Marketing for DMA. “BusinessOnLine is helping us innovate and empower the user with tools to promote and redefine direct marketing.”

Aligning with this change, the new website better leverages social communities by integrating more social features and bringing these communities to the forefront. These features will facilitate two-way conversations, critical to making DMA more relevant and valuable to members. The new site also incorporates a more robust infrastructure and content management system that provide scalability, an enhanced user experience and increased functionality. Eventually, the entire existing DMA website will be phased into the new website.

The DMA2010 Conference & Exhibition is being held October 9-14 in San Francisco, California. To view Kimmel’s remarks and Social Media Face-Off live video stream, please visit http://www.newdma.org during session times.

“How do I monetize social media for my organization?” It’s one of the most important questions for marketers today, and the public is invited to watch the discussion at 4:25 p.m. Pacific Time. Viewers will be able to have a say in the Face-Off results by texting Social to 44264; they can ask a question during the debate by texting Ask a Question to 44264.
