The pace of new April 2012 patents slowed slightly this week, but there was still plenty of activity. International Business Machines Corporation has once again reclaimed it's top spot on the Top 10 list of assignees, gaining 100 more patents over their total last week. Seiko Epson Corporation was another notable assignee this week, making it back on the list after being absent.

Again there is a completely new group of Top 10 inventors. Adversely, the categories list is once again dominated mostly by those of last week with Physics - Computing; Calculating; Counting taking the top spot. However, there were two new categories - Human Necessities - Agriculture; Forestry; Animal Husbandry; Hunting; Trapping; Fishing and Electricity - Generation, Conversion, Or Distribution Of Electric Power.
