New Car Price Survey Shows Car Buyers Believe Internet Price Quotes Get Them a Better Deal
When it comes to negotiating a new car price online, shoppers say the Internet helps, states a new survey from BuyingAdvice.com. A free price quote from online also allows them to speed up the buying process, they believe.
(PRWEB) July 2, 2007 -- Online shoppers say the Internet helps them negotiate a better new car price, states a new survey from BuyingAdvice.com, an online consumer advice and free price quote site.
The survey conducted during June of 2007 asked 1,261 users of the site, which provides more than 50,000 Internet free price quote e-mails a month, to assess the impact of online price quotes on their car buying experience. More than 86 percent of respondents said they believed that purchasers who requested an Internet price quote got a better deal than those who did not.
Participants in the survey shared their personal data with their responses and all stated that they were within thirty days of making a new car purchase. The results of the study provide an intriguing snapshot of the current car buying market.
In addition to the impact on price, respondents were asked to assess whether they felt that requesting a free price quote online had an impact on the length of time they spent purchasing a new vehicle. Eighty-two percent of respondents also said that they believed that getting an Internet price quote speeded up the car buying process.
Interestingly, 66 percent of the sample reported that this was the first time they had requested a new car price online with a price quote, indicating that this is a growing trend among new car buyers.
It has long been established that car buyers are using web resources to research vehicles they intend to buy but it now seems that they are requesting price quotes in increasing numbers.
The positive feelings toward the Internet price quote process among buyers were further supported by their reaction when asked if they would recommend the process to a friend or family member thinking of buying a new car or looking to compare a new car price.
Over eighty-eight percent of those sampled said they would recommend a friend or family member to get a free price quote online when buying a new car.
