many times there is also a cost for the failure to execute on emerging technologies.
Mount Arlington, NJ (PRWEB) May 7, 2010
President Daniel J. Haurey of Exigent Technologies, a New Jersey IT services firm, was featured as a breakout speaker at the New Jersey Medical Group Manager's Association (NJ MGMA), annual conference. This conference was in Atlantic City, New Jersey on April 23rd. 2010.
Haurey's session, entitled "Improving Office Efficiency Using Low Cost Technology" was geared toward practice managers from offices of all sizes. The session educated attendees about practical, low cost technology solutions to streamline the efficiency of their offices.
The gathering opened with a brief backgrounder on Haurey who spoke of humble beginnings and growing up in the inner city, the birth of Exigent Technologies and its rapid ascension into the ranks of top IT services firms in the New Jersey and New York area. Thanking attendees for their interest in his session, Haurey said, "I don't take these opportunities for granted. Early on, I would have never guessed that practice managers, accountants, neurosurgeons and CEOs would one day look to me before making their next technology move. I truly love what I do."
The presentation focused on three key areas, low cost solutions, tools and tips for being a better IT consumer and addressing current inefficiencies in an open forum. During the low cost solutions segment, Haurey highlighted specific hardware, software and services that current Exigent Technologies clients were using with success. Among those discussed were multifunction devices, automated appointment reminders and Internet based patient interaction solutions through forms and secure patient portals.
The session then shifted to a higher-level discussion on the IT purchasing process. After giving some insight on common technology purchasing issues and perceptions, Haurey warned the audience not to compare the cost of a particular technology investment to zero, emphasizing that, "many times there is also a cost for the failure to execute on emerging technologies."
The session closed with Haurey moderating an open forum where NJ MGMA members spoke about some of their technology wins and lessons learned. Mr. Haurey thanked Lawrence Epstein, CEO of Pulmonary and Allergy Associates, PA, an Exigent Technologies client, for the speaking invitation.
Haurey added, "Larry was very gracious in inviting me to be here today. It's very flattering and I truly appreciate it." Mr. Epstein is a past president of the New Jersey MGMA and current Chair of Legislative and External Relations.
