Air Force Contract Vehicle Proves To Be Highly Successful for Small Business with New Sales Totaling More Than $100 Million for Quarter and $230 Million in New Orders for Year

ASHBURN, Va. (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) December 17, 2008 -- More than $100 million in new orders during the fourth quarter of the government’s 2008 fiscal year helped Telos® Corporation post a total of more than $230 million in new sales in FY08, which is millions of dollars more than any of the other seven NETCENTS prime contractors including both large and small businesses over the same period.

Telos received several large task orders in the 2008 fiscal year which contributed to this achievement

One of the largest was a wireless node order for the Army with a value of more than $50 million. There were also multiple orders for ITS work for the Air National Guard, and a number of wireless orders for the Air Force.

Since being named a NETCENTS small business prime in September 2004, Telos has sold more than $600 million in products and services to customers across the Department of Defense. This represents about 14 percent of the contract vehicle’s 6,801 orders that total $4.4 billion to date.

NETCENTS has been valuable to all of the eight contract holders, but it has been particularly valuable to the four small businesses. When the government awarded NETCENTS, it set an original goal of giving 20 percent of the business awarded through the contract to the four small-business contract holders. The government has dramatically exceeded that percentage. To date, contracts awarded to the small business prime contract holders under NETCENTS exceed 45 percent of the total value awarded.
