New Century Bank Names CIO: Pennsylvania Bank’s Former Chief Accounting Officer Assumes New Role

New Century Bank, with branches in the Chester and Delaware County suburbs of Philadelphia, announced the appointment of Robert G. Philips as Chief Information Officer today. Philips’ appointment coincides with executive restructuring at New Century Bank that started with appointment of equity investor Jay Sidhu as CEO in July of this year.

Phillips’ previous title with New Century Bank was Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to that Phillips served as New Century Bank's Chief Financial Officer and Controller.

As the evolving bank’s Chief Information Officer, Robert (Bob) Philips will be responsible for providing innovative leadership, direction and solutions for a wide array of information technology services and, in fact, developing the standard for aggressive improvement in this department.

Philips, who graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Susquehanna University, has spent all of his professional life in banking and has been with New Century Bank since 2001. Prior to his career at New Century, Philips held executive finance positions with Patriot Bank and Atlantic Financial Federal.

As Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer Philips will facilitate the delivery of products and services for the executive team and ensure that these activities are executed within compliance and regulatory standards.
