Creighton University is launching a customizable, online graduate certificate in health care ethics designed for practitioners looking to expand their area of competency to include medical ethics and enhance their decision making ability when confronted with complicated care scenarios.
The 100 percent online graduate certificate is 13 credit hours through which students complete a one credit scholarly reading and writing course and then choose any four courses from the Master’s in Health Care Ethics curriculum. Created especially for the working professional, the certificate can be completed in less than one year.
“We realize that there are numerous students who want to attain specific skills in health care ethics that are part of our graduate program but aren’t certain about committing to the entire program of study. The graduate certificate allows students to work with faculty to design a program of study to meet their needs whether it is to be a more knowledgeable member of an ethics committee or to explore specific issues in contemporary health care,” notes Amy Haddad, Ph.D., program director of the Graduate Programs in Health Care Ethics.
