The more you use some sites, the worse the experience becomes
Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 12, 2009
StandardAnswer has closed on $100,000 of seed funding in order to complete initial development and begin rolling out its new social networking site that enables users to build communities based on an unlimited number of questions and answers.
In the face of a worsening economy, StandardAnswer's CEO, Mark Erwin, attributes his fundraising success to the uniqueness of the website's concept. "The more you use some sites, the worse the experience becomes," he says, "but with StandardAnswer, the more you use it, the better it gets."
Mark explained how the website works. "When you visit StandardAnswer, you can answer questions posed by others, pose your own questions, search or browse for questions to answer, or - and this is the coolest part - you can use the StandardAnswer search tool to find people who answered say, the same way you did. Or people who answered differently."
"The website lets you build communities in the same way that we build them in life," Bill Dickson, the source of the investment round said. "StandardAnswer aggregates the human desire to ask questions in a way that is fun, accessible, and powerful." he said. "That, combined with Mark's unique monetization model, make this an exciting investment opportunity."
StandardAnswer.com has just launched a publicly accessible beta version of its site at and is planning a full blown launch within weeks.
As more and more people set up free accounts on the site and ask and answer questions of each other, the StandardAnswer Search tool will become more and more useful. If a user is interested in finding people their own age who like the same kind of music they do, enjoy the same restaurants, and are politically like-minded too, the StandardAnswer site easily enables this kind of complex search.
The site also allows users to set up Community Trackers which constantly scan people's answers against a set of criteria the user sets up. The person can be automatically invited to join the community and the person who set up the tracker can be optionally notified when someone fits the profile.
Michelle Patterson, a new account holder at StandardAnswer.com, says she likes exploring the site. "I usually answer a few questions and then one of them will remind me of something so I'll quickly create a new question and then send it to my friends," she said. "There are so many question topics, and so many fun interactive qualities to the site that it just pulls you in. The site is full of self-discovery and the opportunity to learn more about everyone. I'm hooked on the site and will continue to visit again and again."
StandardAnswer.com is a revolution in social networking. Users can ask questions, answer questions, use the interactive StandardAnswer Search to find people who answer the same or differently from themselves. StandardAnswer isn't about the people you know. It's about the people you should. Ask. Answer. Discover.
