Fablelane is simple and fun for teachers, students, and anyone interested in story telling.

Fablelane was featured on NewsWatch as part of its popular segment, AppWatch, that takes a look at the latest and coolest mobile applications and mobile services on the market. Andrew Tropeano, host of AppWatch, shared with viewers how this new website created by Danish students can help strengthen literacy skills.
The correlation between reading, writing, and education is most obvious among children and adolescents. To strengthen their literacy skills, a website called Fablelane was created by students in Denmark. The essence of the website is shared story telling. In Fablelane, users can start and continue stories with other users.
There are two sections of the site, a public section and an education section. The public section allows users to create stories, alternative storylines within a current story, and play with previous entries. Users can also share fun stories they’ve seen or helped create on twitter or facebook. The website developers gave Fablelane gaming qualities; specifically, the more users interact and contribute, the more options and privileges they have on the site.
The education portal gives teachers the ability to assign reading and writing material to students and track their progression. The Fablelane system can also determine which story is ideal for each student’s current reading level.
