Albany, NY (PRWEB) June 8, 2010
To accommodate a growing Hispanic population, the American Safety Council (ASC) has been approved by the New York DMV to offer its online defensive driving course in Spanish. In March, ASC announced the approval to deliver its defensive driving course completely test-free by way of their custom identity validation process, enabling students to take the course 100% online from start to finish. The recent Spanish language option is now included as a separate registration, but the course and benefits are still the same.
Completion of the English or Spanish American Safety Council online defensive driving course provides New York drivers a mandatory 10% reduction, for three years, in the base rate of their current automobile liability, no-fault and collision premiums. Upon completion of the course, drivers are also eligible to receive up to a four point reduction on their driving record.
“Every eligible New York motorist should be afforded the opportunity for insurance and point reduction.” said Bob Proechel, president of the American Safety Council. "We recognized Hispanic New Yorkers may prefer to take the course in their native language.”
Along with the Spanish version of the New York Defensive Driving Course, American Safety Council will also offer 24/7 toll-free customer support with bilingual representatives. From start to finish, Spanish speakers can feel comfortable they are getting all of the benefits the IPIRP program provides for New York motorists. Upon completion, each student is sent a certificate of completion to present to their insurance company for the insurance discount. ASC also automatically notifies the New York DMV for graduates to receive up to a 4 point reduction on their driving record.
“We are proud to offer this defensive driving course in an easier, hassle-free format for both English and Spanish speakers.” said Tom Page, CEO of the American Safety Council.
