All religions are different. All people are different. As a community, commitment to equality and diversity is our social responsibility.

Uncooked bacon found in a Staten Island field where Muslims gathered to celebrate the end of Ramadan was investigated as evidence of hate crime, according to the Wall Street Journal. David Perecman and New York civil rights lawyers at The Perecman Firm believe that bias crimes should be aggressively pursued by the New York police.

“It’s important to prevent future occurrences of New York hate crimes by deterring people from committing them in the first place,” said New York civil rights violation lawyer David Perecman, founder of The Perecman Firm, one of New York’s civil rights violation law firms.

About 1,500 people were gathered to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr when the three packages of bacon were found, reported The Wall Street Journal.

The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said in the Wall Street Journal, “pork is often used to offend or taunt Muslims.” Religious restrictions prohibit Muslims from eating pork because pigs are considered unclean.

“All religions are different. All people are different. As a community, commitment to equality and diversity is our social responsibility,” said Perecman, a New York lawyer strongly committed to civil rights for over 30 years.

At the center of the debate on NYPD race problems is the controversial “stop-and-frisk” policy, explained New York civil rights violation lawyers at The Perecman Firm. The policy, which allows New York police officers to stop and frisk any person they perceive as suspicious, has been frequently criticized for the disproportionate number of blacks and Hispanics who were stopped and detained.
